February, it’s been nice. We seem to have settled into a weekend groove that involves less overall chaos (with two under four, chaos is often our norm) and more fun. We have nearly finished our kitchen project after working on it in fits and starts for nearly a year. The project wasn’t particularly challenging, but finding the energy to work on it after the kids were down was. I’m excited to say it has turned out nearly exactly how I envisioned it, and I’m excited to share it: post, reel, carousel of photos, etc. forthcoming—the time I have to cultivate social media posts is slim, so I’m fully embracing a less-is-more approach to content creation. Maybe if the sunlight cooperates this weekend, I’ll snap some photos. :)
The last Thursday of each month will always be dedicated to a small collection of my favorite things over the last thirty days. Some things will be new to me, and some will be old standbys very much worth sharing. So, without further ado:
Links may be commissionable at no extra cost to you.
Swivel chairs: We got two of these chairs for the living room, and we LOVE them. They were easy to assemble, have been durable, and are so comfortably roomy. Unfortunately, both colors are out of stock right now, but I’ve seen them come back in stock several times already. At $379 a piece, they are a bit more affordable than similar chairs of this style.
Seche Vite: I try to paint my nails every Sunday night—it helps me feel put together and ready for the week. This top coat dries incredibly quickly and makes my regular nail polish last all week and look almost gel-like. The key is to follow the instructions by adding the top coat while your polish is still wet.
Fridge acrylic planner: I am a big fan of analog planning, and this basic clear acrylic weekly planner has been a great addition to my system. I like having our plans and meals for the week available at a glance, and it takes me just a few minutes ot fill out. This one comes with a set of markers with a magnetic pouch to hold them, too—a plus.
Podcast episode about supercommunicators: I’m a fan of Armchair Expert, and usually pick and choose a few episodes to listen to between books. This interview with Charles Duhigg about the qualities of supercommunicators was especially interesting. After listening, I started reading his first book, The Power of Habit, which I’m enjoying so far. I’ve also added his new book (about being a supercommunicator) to my TBR list, too.
Simmer pot: I got this cute simmer pot for Christmas and enjoyed many combinations of orange, cinnamon, clove, and cranberry all season long. I recently tried this recipe, and it has been perfect for the beginning of spring. (Spoiler: lemon, lavender, eucalyptus. Try it!)
And that’s a wrap on the second installment of my last Thursday linkletter. See you next week! In the meantime, you can check out this post about my favorite kitchen decor or my first post about fresh starts and hopefulness.
