Gosh I love this!! It speaks to me in so many levels too! Pls donโ€™t be surprised if I take screenshots of my favorite lines from here. Iโ€™d read it again and share my favorite parts! (not a creep, just really a passionate reader ๐Ÿคฃ)

This gives me idea to share my bucket list too and the crossing out of whatโ€™s been done looks exciting for me! I think this would help me get reminded of my things-I-really-want-to-do and will motivate me to finally work on the list.

Iโ€™m in love with this line โ€œIt would be easy to take a break from writingโ€”I could almost too quickly, rationalize removing it from my plate. What Iโ€™m trying to do instead, though, is see this as a way to show up for myself.โ€

This really hits home to me because I havenโ€™t seen it that way. I love typing down every thought in my head as much as I can but I never thought that yes, itโ€™s actually a way to show up for myself. Thanks for articulating that! It gives me much more motivation to continue writing and hone it!

And this lineโ€” โ€œthe easiest thing to do as a mom is to disappearโ€”into your children, into the mental load, into the chores, into the impossible โ€œbalanceโ€ of it all. In the absence of free time, Iโ€™ve learned how much I need space to be with my thoughts and to process my experiencesโ€

I never thought Iโ€™d lose so much free time when I become a mom. But this is my reality now, and most of the time I found myself longing for that break to have a space to ponder on my thoughts and write down the experience. Argh, thanks for showing up for yourself- it radiates even to a normal mom like me!

It is UNREAL how little free time we have as moms. I'm so glad my thoughts resonated with you and I'm so thankful that you shared your experiences. :)

Ok I not only loved this, but needed it it today. You've inspired me to stop f*cking around with my latest post, and just send it, and move on. Not everything needs to be a shining version of perfection. And I love your list. Add some fun sh*t in there for you too, though! Here's a tip: my kids love 'movie night', which is where I drag pillows and cushions onto the floor, switch on the Christmas lights above the fireplace that I have never taken down, close the curtains and let them choose a movie for the three of us. They get hot chocolate and marshmallows, and depending on the time of day, I join them, or have a glass of wine. Then we just relax, and it's a few less hours to spend rushing around.
