A cute Go Fish game, a quilted vest, ballet flats, and more 🎣
The last Thursday (vol. 1 no. 8): favorite things this month
August is one of my favorite months. Back to school season breathes life into the dog days of summer, bringing a renewed sense of purpose and hope for what will be. (And also new pens and cute outfits. What’s not to like?) Ah, the possibilities of a fresh start. One of my favorite feelings. 🙂
To close out each month here on Substack, I like to share five things I loved over the last 30 days, and I think this month’s picks perfectly capture the spirit of summer tipping into a new school year. We have a cute outfit, a fun game for those last few summer days, an opportunity to shift your mindset, and a way to keep your kids’ back-to-school clothes clean.

The cutest Go Fish game ever. The cards are substantial and sturdy — great for my 4 year old.
A sweet quilted vest from Etsy. Is the vibe 90’s elementary school teacher? Grandma? Homesteader chic? You decide. I love it!
Madewell Greta ballet flats. I had been eying a Mary-Jane-style ballet flat all summer, and I’m glad I finally sprung for this pair. They are so comfy — no break-in time needed. I reach for them multiple times a week. (And if you’re an educator, Madewell ALWAYS has a 15% teacher discount.)
The Perfectionist’s Guide to Losing Control. This book is about perfectionism as a superpower and embracing all the good that can come from it.
recommended it last week and I instantly downloaded it on Audible.Shout wipes. Maybe you’re not a smidge psycho about stains on clothes like I am, but it’s always my mission to make my kids’ clothes last through the season. Tuck these shout wipes in your purse and in the diaper bag and you are set. Bring on the messy snacks, okay? I’m like, not afraid at all. 🙃
This has been August 2024’s linkletter, a round up of favorite things over the last thirty days.

Those ballet flats are adorable! And I am adding that book to my list!! I love the idea of seeing our qualities as superpowers. Thank you for the recommendation, Friend 🫶
