YES to seeing your loved ones enjoying themselves. That'll make it all worthwhile! I say that partially to hype myself up, because I have to embark on a train ride with my dog that'll be 13 hours long, spread over 5 different trains. I'm lowkey dreading it already and it's still 1.5 month away lol.
Oh I liked this vacation story time & reflection. It’s the first post I read from you and I feel so much personality, love and realness around you as a writer, mom and unique, magical human being! Looking forward to read more 🥰
Ahhhh the bliss of a meticulously planned, precisely structured, and tidily organized list! And the satisfaction of completing the list. And….the utter manic craze of throwing it away when you realize you don’t need it (because all the planning and organizing is inside you)!
such a real and vivid depiction of vacationing at the beach with two kids. so many firsts for your family and i loved reading about all the joy everyone experienced :)
There's so much to love about this piece—it's so well-written. Thank you for including gorgeous pictures; they led me into that corner of the world. And recommendations for the trip—I can finally use them when I plan my holiday. In particular, I enjoyed "I am a serial optimiser." - I am the same: optimise, optimise. Thanks for this post, Courtney!
Hey Courtney, this was a great post! I’m glad you and your family had fun! As I read this, it made me think about how stressed out my mom must have been planning our family vacations lol. Ultimately, I think she enjoyed it, but the long car drives with me and my sister probably gave her headaches lol. Thank you so much for posting this! Your newsletter is awesome by the way! Just subscribed! :)

If I can do it, you can do it! 👏🏻

Fabienne, this was literally the kindest comment ever 🥲 thank you so much for your words!
Ohhh, really glad I made you happy! It is all true!
Sounds like a wonderful vacation!! We love Gulf Shores!! And I love oysters too. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. 😊💖
It is SUCH a cute spot! I hope we go back sometime so we can explore more. With the littles, it was mostly pool, beach, condo, repeat!

YES! It’s just the act of creating the list that is needed, really. 🙂

The optimizing habit is a blessing and a curse! I am trying to use it for good, lately. Does this mean I am optimizing my optimizing? 🙃
That might as well mean that you are optimizing your optimizing 🤣
This is so cute <3
🙂🙂 thanks friend!
