The last Thursday (vol. 1 no. 6)
A linkletter of favorite things this month, including a perfect zip hoodie and a seemingly magic cure
It’s the last Thursday of June! My, my, where does the time go (and similar sentiments). Summer is in full swing, and I have a few favorite things to share as we slide into July. If you’re new here, hi! 👋🏻 I close each month with a list of things I’ve enjoyed over the last thirty days.

The perfect zip hoodie: I have been trying and failing to find a great zip hoodie for quite a while. I didn’t want anything oversized, as I wanted to be able to wear it out and about and not just at home. This one is perfect. Not too pricey ($32, with a coupon often available), lots of colors (I got gray and gray-green, a sagey color), just slightly cropped (meaning it hits right at the hip), and a cute mock-neck detail when it is zipped up. It’s thick, but not too heavy. The internet says it’s a Lulu dupe, too.
Mini metal trays: We use these CONSTANTLY! They come in a 4-pack for $22. They are perfect for lunchtime, kid meals, or even small crafts if you are trying to corral tiny things. We used to buy paper plates regularly, but now use these instead — another plus.
Neck pillow: My neck and shoulders are chronically sore. I am always applying Icy Hot or using Salonpas patches. I tend to attribute this to stress and/or, as I affectionately refer to it, “sleeping like an idiot.” 😅 I’m a side sleeper, I tuck my head, and I like to be fairly propped up on a couple of pillows. Well, no more! Enter this contour support, memory foam neck pillow. I don’t know what kind of sorcery is involved, but it is pure magic. It’s only been two days, but I’m telling you, this is working wonders for me, and my neck pain is almost gone. (Yes, I’m raving about a neck pillow on the internet. I’m old now, I get it!)
Sam and Julia’s Mouse Mansion toys: This is the absolute cutest thing, alright? It started as a children’s book, which features photos of an actual “mouse mansion” that the creator built and decorated for over 13 years. The book follows main characters Sam and Julia and their adventures. It’s so, so so sweet, with the tiniest of charming details everywhere. We happened upon Sam and Julia products at our favorite local toy store, which allow you to create your own mouse mansion, room by room. We decided to get the book, a room (cardboard), a set of bedroom furniture (which you assemble from balsam wood pieces and then paint/decorate), and a mouse called Ella (see below). Our daughter loves it so far and is having fun watching the building and painting progress!
Sweater shaver: I finally grabbed one of these to try to save a few of my sweaters, and it works well. Definitely worth the $8! It quickly and easily gets rid of all those little fuzzies and makes sweaters look new again.
This has been June 2024’s linkletter, a round up of favorite things over the last thirty days.
I sleep the same way - on my side, head tucked, and propped up. It's horrible lol but that cervical pillow sounds lovely! Might have to cop it!
