The last Thursday (vol. 1 no. 4)
An April recap (in May, oops) and linkletter of favorite things
Usually, on the last Thursday of the month, I share a quick month-end recap and links to my favorite things over the last thirty days. Well, the last Thursday of this month was last week, and somehow that escaped me. I think I was so thrilled to finally share my hero post that I didn’t realize it.
Regardless, I will carry on and share April’s recap here at the beginning of May, because although I am quite type-A, I can totally part from a plan or schedule when needed. (No really, I can!)
As always, I’m down to the wire getting this out on time, so let’s continue to put off packing my kids’ lunches and get right to it.
Links may be commissionable at no extra cost to you.
Tula eye balm: This is the first Tula product I’ve tried, and the stick form makes it so easy to apply. I’ve been using it after other serums and before makeup primer. It is meant to hydrate, brighten, and depuff. My favorite thing about it, though, is the cooling effect it has. Let me tell you, it is about the only pleasant thing about having to wake up at 5 am. And for that reason, it will stay in my morning routine!
Aerie flared leggings: Us millennials call these yoga pants, right? Regardless, I finally caved and got a couple of pairs, and I love them. In comparison to regular leggings, I find that the flare makes them a bit comfier. I prefer leggings with some cotton in them, so this cotton/poly blend is perfect for me. As an added bonus, Aerie holds up well and doesn’t fade, in my experience.
Merit Beauty: I think the theme of this linkletter is “I discovered beauty products in stick form and I liked them.” I’ve seen this makeup brand all over my Instagram, so when I needed to purchase several of my staple products, I just went for it and decided to try it out. And you know what? I never knew I wanted my foundation in a stick form until now! It is so easy to apply and blends really smoothly and easily. I did get a free sample of their glow serum, and I find it a tad too oily to wear under makeup. Otherwise, I also grabbed their highlighter, mascara, and brow pomade, and I am enjoying all of the products. My favorite part is ease of application—I like wearing makeup, but I hate applying makeup. These products are high quality, affordable, and quick to apply. All major wins for me.
Trader Joe’s Moon X pinot noir: This wine is about $7 and it is so good for the price! It is very fruit-forward, light, and easy to drink.
The Tortured Poets Department: My constant soundtrack since its release. As a Swiftie through and through, it is impossible to select a favorite track, so I will share my top 13 (because obviously), in the order that they appear on the album.
