The best part of social media
Or, what keeps me scrolling. Plus, a meal plan and a solar eclipse photo
One of my favorite things about social media is seeing the mundane. The everyday, normal stuff. Sure, vacation photos of beaches or mountains are pretty. Instagram stories featuring try-ons of impressive shopping hauls are probably going to get me to tap on at least one link. But really, what interests me most is seeing and hearing about everyday experiences. What did you try at Trader Joe’s this week? Did you get out for a walk because it was nice out? Are you watching Bluey for the thousandth time? Cool, me too.
There are a lot of downfalls with social media, but seeing other people’s very normal lives, I think, helps each of us feel a little less alone.
This week has turned out to be quite busy for me. Busy at work, busy at home. Busy witnessing a solar eclipse (see above and below). I have several half-baked drafts that I’d love to share, but of course, they aren’t quite ready yet. Instead, I’m going to share a bit of my mundane, everyday life—what we’re eating this week.
I have a couple of food blogs that I cook from religiously, one being Pinch of Yum. This week, we’re eating:
I tend to shy away from making bold claims for attention, but it is not an exaggeration that the air fryer tofu is life-changing. If you pick just one to try, make it that one!
Time is my most precious commodity, so these days my meal planning revolves around the quickest (but still satisfying) meals from my rotation. The turkey sandwich is a new one this week, and I think it isn’t going to disappoint.
So there you have it: mundane social media scrolls, a meal plan, a solar eclipse. That’s been my week. Don’t forget to try the tofu. 🙂
Courtney my wife keeps telling me we need to buy an air fryer. I just need a few more paid subscribers to justify the purchase. 😂 We're going to get one soon.
Oh, I love your perspective. I wholeheartedly agree!! Getting a glimpse of other people's every day moments, reminds me to appreciate the simple and precious things in life. Thank you for sharing this & for the recipes! They look yummy! 💖
