Have I mentioned that we ended up moving over the hottest weekend of the year, or perhaps ever? And, as fate would have it, one of our air handlers decided to give out (or reveal that it had actually given up on reliably functioning quite long ago).
Luckily, our new home has two air handlers, so half of our house was cool and comfortable, while the other was the actual surface of the sun. A real yin-yang situation.
We had to wait well into the heat wave to have it fixed, because AC repair technicians are of course hot commodities on the first 100-degree day in June.
Needless to say, we were tested, and came out the other side with most of our sanity intact.
Right now we’re in the in-between phase, where we have all the essentials unpacked, are getting started on a few home projects (weeds, gutter clean-out, and paint touch-ups, oh my!), and are slowly working through the rest of the boxes. Truly, though, if it’s still in a box at this point, do I even need it?
As we settle in, I’ve made a few moving-related purchases, some out of necessity, some in the name of ~aesthetics~, and some because we all need a little treat from time to time.
