Last weekend I attended a wedding. I got ready around 3:00 pm, changing from my leggings and oversized sweatshirt into this fit and flare linen dress from Quince (see below). I curled my hair, did my makeup as usual, and put on a bit of lipstick.
My kids were immediately flabbergasted.
βMama pretty!β my two-year-old proclaimed.
βMom, I love your new look!β my almost-five-year-old daughter told me, giving me a big hug. This was quickly followed by, βCan I get a blue dress like yours?β
I wasnβt sure if I should feel complimented or humbled, but I chose the former. π
While it was nice to get dressed up and socialize with other adults for an evening, my typical wardrobe choices prioritize the kind of comfort needed for schlepping kids here and there, slinging snacks, intense multitasking, cleaning up toys, and overall eternal tiredness.
Because everyone likes comfy clothes and a good round-up, below are a few of my current favorite momfit staples.

Aerie leggings. I prefer leggings made with cotton. I know Lululemon and Amazon Lululemon dupes are buttery soft and hold everything in etc, etc, but I like what I like. I reach for the flare version more.
On the topic of Aerie - sweatshirts. Most of mine are from seasons past, but this crew is similar to one of my faves. They hold up wash after wash.
These Gap Factory pull-on barrel leg jeans. Or βjeans.β I mean, they are jeans, but they are SO comfortable.
These Amazon padded bralettes. Comparable to more expensive brands.
OVERALLS. This Amazon pair is affordable and comfortable. I also have shorts overalls (Shortalls? No. That canβt be right.) from Old Navy that I love.
Amazon again: Cropped (just the right amount) zip hoodie. I have it in the gray-green and gray.
This linen long sleeve shirt from Quince. Iβve had it on repeat for work since itβs warmed up some. Would also be cute as a swimsuit cover-up.
For summer: my brown universal slim Teva sandals. I size down. Comfy feet over everything.
